***Measuring.......Snow***

How do you measure snow?

I asked my friend Dick Fletcher that question this morning
after driving thru 12 miles of it to get to work.

Measured 4 1/2 inches of it on top of the car this morning when I went out
to start it at 6:30.
It was very quiet, the flakes were softly coming down.
Could not see the head lights because of all the snow stacked up on the bumper.
After I had cleared the snow off of the wind shield
I put the wipers on.
Sitting in the car watching the back and forth motion I felt like a kid again.
Theres something wonderful about watching the snow fall.

It was still dark when we left the ranch.

The only tracks on the road were those of the coyotes
out looking for breakfast.
No other vehicles had ventured out yet.
As we passed the
neighbors ranches we could see the glow of the spot lights haloed
in the snowy dawn.

The temperature is in the low 30's.

Quiet snow day,
good for watching the rabbits and birds out the kitchen window.
